Sales leaders are under constant pressure to hit bigger numbers with more volume, pipeline, revenue, activities, and meetings.
But Morgan J. Ingram, Founder & CEO of AMP Social, thinks that pressure is backfiring.
“Most teams are doing massive volume without teaching relevance. It’s just garbage in, garbage out.”
At a recent event, a CRO shared an approach that stuck with Morgan:
They were deliberately trying to do more unscalable things not to slow down, but to build stronger foundations.
That means coaching reps on what actually matters in outreach. Prioritising relevance over speed. And not chasing metrics for the sake of metrics.
Morgan isn’t saying this is easy. He knows not every team has the luxury to scale slowly. But when speed replaces intention, the results suffer.
“Doing the unscalable is the strategy. Especially when everyone else is playing the volume game.”
