At trumpet, Pride isn’t just a celebration, it’s a call to action. As we mark Pride Month and reflect on the progress made since the UK’s first Pride march in 1972, we’re reminded that true progress means showing up for the LGBTQIA+ community not just in June, but year-round.
That’s why we’re proud to be supporting Switchboard, the national LGBTQIA+ support line, with a donation of £1,500, representing £30 for every year since the first UK Pride.
Why support lines like Switchboard are essential
For over 50 years, Switchboard has been there for LGBTQIA+ people across the UK – offering a safe, confidential space to talk about anything, from coming out and identity, to mental health, relationships, or just needing someone to listen.
Even with increased visibility and legal protections, many LGBTQIA+ individuals still face isolation, discrimination, and mental health struggles. That’s where charities like Switchboard step in. They offer more than a helpline – they offer connection, affirmation, and hope.
- 1 in 8 LGBTQIA+ people have no one to talk to when they're feeling lonely or down
- Trans people are twice as likely to experience suicidal thoughts than cisgender LGB+ individuals
- Nearly half of LGBTQIA+ youth feel their identity isn’t respected at home
Behind these stats are real people. And Switchboard is there for them, 365 days a year.

By donating £1,500, we want to honour both the history of Pride and the ongoing need for accessible support.
