It's an all too familiar problem. You're away from your desk, out at lunch, on annual leave, or simply heads-down in back-to-back calls, and a buyer needs an answer right now. Historically, that meant a waiting game: an email sits in your inbox, momentum stalls, and the deal cools off while you catch up.
Ask AI was built to close that gap.
What is Ask AI?
Ask AI is trumpet's in-Pod conversational assistant. It lives directly inside the Live mode chat and comments experience of a Pod, meaning anyone collaborating there, buyer or seller, can ask a question in context and get an instant answer, complete with a source they can click through to verify.
Instead of a Pod being a static space that only comes to life when you're online to answer questions, Ask AI turns it into a searchable, self-serve source of truth. Buyers get their answer the moment they need it, and you stay out of the back-and-forth on the questions that don't need your personal input.
How it works
In the video above, Helena shows exactly how this plays out inside a live Pod, but here's the breakdown of what's happening behind the scenes:
It only answers from what you've approved. Ask AI pulls its answers from the text content already inside the Pod, whether that's your MAP steps, timelines, or written widgets, plus any additional sources you've chosen to add in Main Settings or a Pod's Share Settings, like help articles, websites, or Google Drive documents.
You control the guardrails. Every workspace can set blocked topics in AI settings, so subjects like pricing or legal terms are kept off-limits and routed to a rep instead. This is what Helena means in the video when she talks about staying in control of exactly what Ask AI can and can't discuss.
It knows when to bring you in. If a buyer asks something Ask AI can't answer, it prompts them to loop in the Pod owner, and you get an email notification so you can jump into the conversation directly in the Pod's comments.
It's opt-in at two levels. Ask AI is switched on for your workspace in Main Settings, then enabled per Pod in that Pod's Share Settings.
Why this matters for your deals
The value here isn't just speed, it's momentum. Every question a buyer has to sit on is a moment where a deal can go quiet. Ask AI keeps things moving 24/7 without asking you to be permanently online, and because every answer is cited, buyers can trust what they're reading. For reps managing a growing number of Pods, it also means less time on repetitive questions and more time on the conversations that actually need a human.
It's not just a sales play, either. Pods don't stop at the close, they carry through into onboarding and beyond, and that's exactly where Ask AI keeps paying off. New customers almost always have a flurry of setup questions early on: where a step is up to, what a specific term in the plan means, how a particular workflow works. Instead of those questions queueing up in a CSM's inbox or a shared Slack channel, customers can ask directly inside their onboarding Pod and get an instant, sourced answer. CSMs stay free to focus on the relationship and the trickier questions, while Ask AI handles the repetitive, well-documented ones, so onboarding stays fast without adding to anyone's workload.

FAQS
What can Ask AI actually answer questions from?
Ask AI only draws on text-based content already inside the Pod, such as MAP steps, timelines, and written widgets, plus any extra sources you've chosen to add in Main Settings or a Pod's Share Settings, like help articles, websites, or Google Drive documents. It won't pull answers from images, PDFs, videos, or anywhere outside those approved sources.
Can we stop Ask AI from answering things like pricing or legal questions?
Yes. You can set blocked topics in your AI settings, so anything you flag, pricing and legal terms are common examples, gets kept off-limits. Instead of answering, Ask AI routes those questions straight to the rep.
What happens if Ask AI doesn't know the answer?
It won't guess. If a question falls outside the Pod's approved content or hits a blocked topic, Ask AI prompts the buyer to loop in the Pod owner. You'll get an email notification and can reply directly in the Pod's comments.
Do we need to turn Ask AI on, or is it live by default?
Ask AI is opt-in at two levels: first switched on for your workspace in Main Settings, then enabled per Pod in that Pod's Share Settings.
