Magic Moments with Michael: Automate Mutual Action Plans with trumpet Copilot

In this Magic Moments episode, trumpet Senior Account Executive Michael shows how he uses trumpet Copilot to turn sales call transcripts into Mutual Action Plans. Copilot uses the context of the conversation to identify commitments, next steps, stakeholders and timelines, then builds the MAP directly inside the buyer's Pod. For Michael, it's taken a process that previously took around 30 minutes down to around 30 seconds.

  • Copilot can use sales call context to automatically build a Mutual Action Plan inside a trumpet Pod.
  • Call transcripts and Gong recordings can provide the context Copilot needs to identify agreed actions and commitments.
  • Next steps, stakeholders and target dates can be turned into a structured MAP without manually rebuilding everything after the call.
  • For Michael, creating a MAP has gone from around 30 minutes of manual work to around 30 seconds.
  • Buyers can use the MAP as a shared project plan to keep stakeholders informed and the process moving.

Building a Mutual Action Plan (MAP) after a sales call is valuable. Spending 30 minutes manually pulling together every next step, stakeholder and deadline? Less so.

In this episode of Magic Moments, Michael Fagan, Senior Account Executive at trumpet, shows how he uses Copilot to turn a sales call transcript into a Mutual Action Plan in seconds.

What is trumpet?

Trumpet is a buyer enablement platform that helps revenue teams bring the sales process into one personalised, collaborative space.

Teams use trumpet to create Digital Sales Rooms, or Pods as we call them, where buyers can find everything they need throughout the sales process, from proposals and business cases to Mutual Action Plans, pricing, product content and next steps.

Rather than information being spread across email threads, attachments and different tools, the Pod gives the seller, champion and wider buying team one shared place to work from.

What is trumpet Copilot?

Trumpet Copilot is an AI assistant that helps sellers build, personalise and maintain their Pods using natural language.

Instead of manually creating and updating every part of a Digital Sales Room, sellers can tell Copilot what they want to do. Copilot can use the context already available to it, including call transcripts, uploaded documents and content from trumpet's CMS, to help build the experience.

That could mean asking Copilot to:

  • Build or personalise pages inside a Pod
  • Find and add relevant sales content
  • Turn call transcripts into next steps
  • Create and update Mutual Action Plans
  • Summarise information for the buyer
  • Work with Canvas to create interactive content such as ROI calculators

For Michael, one of the most useful applications happens immediately after a sales call. Copilot reads the context of the conversation, identifies the commitments and next steps, and builds the MAP directly inside the buyer's Pod.

For Michael, that's taken a task that used to take around 30 minutes down to 30 seconds.

Watch the video here:

From sales call to Mutual Action Plan

After a prospect or customer call, Michael would previously go through his notes and manually build out a Mutual Action Plan.

Who needs to do what? What was agreed? Who else needs to be involved? And what does the path to partnership look like from here?

It's an important part of keeping a deal moving, but doing it manually takes time.

Now, Michael can open trumpet Copilot and give it the context from the conversation, whether that's a Gong call recording or an uploaded call transcript.

From there, he can simply prompt Copilot:

“Add a Mutual Action Plan based on the next steps discussed in the call transcript.”

Copilot does the rest.

Automatically pulling next steps from call transcripts

Copilot reads the transcript and identifies the commitments and next steps discussed during the conversation.

It can then turn those into a structured Mutual Action Plan directly inside the trumpet Pod, detailing what needs to happen, who is involved and when each step should be completed.

Rather than relying on the AE to manually transfer everything discussed on the call, the context from the conversation becomes the starting point for the buyer's action plan.

And because the MAP lives inside the buyer's Pod, both sides have a shared place to keep track of progress.

30 minutes to 30 seconds

For Michael, the biggest difference is time. A Mutual Action Plan that previously took around 30 minutes to build manually can now be created in around 30 seconds with Copilot. That gives him more time back after every call, while still making sure the buyer has a clear, organised view of what happens next.

Copilot can also use the same deal context to help build other content inside the Pod, from executive summaries to interactive ROI calculators.

Instead of starting from scratch after every conversation, the information already shared by the buyer can be used to keep building and updating their sales experience.

Making the MAP useful for the buyer too

A Mutual Action Plan isn't just a seller checklist. For the buyer, it provides a clear view of the path ahead: what has been agreed, what needs to happen next, who's involved and when different steps need to be completed.

As Michael explains, that also makes it useful as an internal project management tool.

Your champion can use the MAP to keep other stakeholders up to speed and give everyone involved in the decision a shared view of progress.

The seller saves time creating it. The buyer gets a clearer path forward.
